Supplementary information on admission criteria
While we understand that the Japanese language environment at home may vary, the kindergarten section of the WJSP requires children to have the vocabulary and communication skills necessary to “speak Japanese and participate in a variety of in-class activities”. We would be grateful if you could understand that the content of the classes is such that children can learn Japanese while having fun. Unfortunately, we reserve the right to refuse enrolment.
Kindergarten class structure
The kindergarten consists of A class (corresponding to the middle class of Japanese kindergarten) and B class (corresponding to the older class of kindergarten). Class B is based not only on the age of the student’s grade level, but also on the student’s previous experience in learning Hiragana in some form. The learning objectives for Kindergarten are as follows for all AB classes.
